Acclaimed as "the best novel of the decade" in Greece, Zigzag through the Bitter-orange Trees is the first novel to receive both the Greek State Prize for Literature and the prestigious Book Critics' Award. This is the fifth novel, and first to be published in English, by Ersi Sotiropoulos, a writer celebrated for her consistent originality and subversion of convention.
Translator, novelist, biographer, and historian Peter Green is Dougherty Centennial Professor emeritus of classics at the University of Texas-Austin and professor at the University of Iowa. He has translated Catullus and Ovid and is the author of acclaimed works on ancient Greece and Alexander the Great.
