Balkans, Middle East and terrorism focus of talks between DM and US Secretary of Defense
22 April, 2005

Developments in the Balkans and the Middle East, the fight against terrorism and Greece's participation in peacekeeping forces in the Balkans and Afghanistan are the issues that will dominate talks between the Minister of Defense Spilios Spiliotopoulos and US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld on Wednesday.

Issues related to bilateral military cooperation will also be discussed with the aim of strengthening relations.

The defense minister and a Greek delegation will be departing for Washington on Sunday.

Also on the DM's agenda is a meeting at the White House with J.D. Crouch, Deputy National Security Advisor.

The minister will also be meeting with members of the Greek-American community and will address National Defense University.
