- FM addresses OSCE Meeting @ Vilnius
Foreign Minister Stavros Dimas participated in the 18th Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) which was held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on December 6 and 7. Dimas stressed that the Corfu Process launched in 2009 should serve as a compass in order to strengthen the concept of indivisible, efficient and cooperative security. To this end, he welcomed the meeting of the "5+2" Transdniestrian settlement process format, the continuation of the Geneva Talks, concerning the crisis resolution in Georgia, and the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group determined to promote a lasting solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Finally, he highlighted that the issue of illegal migration is of transnational nature whose resolution requires cooperation, synergy and solidarity among OSCE members, whilst environmental security is dependent on a comprehensive energy policy which prioritizes the share of renewable energy sources in the energy mix.

- FM @ NATO Meeting in Brussels
FM Dimas participated in a NATO Foreign Ministers Meeting held in Brussels on December 7. At its final statement, the alliance reaffirmed its Open Door policy and strong commitment to the Euro-Atlantic integration of aspirant partners - including FYROM - in accordance with previous decisions taken at the Bucharest, Strasbourg-Kehl and Lisbon Summits, stressing that "democratic values, regional cooperation, and good neighbourly relations are important for lasting peace and stability." On his part, Dimas highlighted that three key points should be made clear to all interested parties. Firstly, that Greece is committed to a speedy resolution of the name issue through negociations under the UN.
Secondly, that the name issue will be resolved through a formal negotiation procedure in good faith and through political will which the Greek side has already exhibited. Thirdly, that Greece is determined to work towards the European integration of the Balkan region within the framework of preparations for the 2014 Greek EU presidency.
