From 26 to 28 November 2008, Cypriot President Mr. D. Christofias will be carrying out his first state visit to Greece, at the invitation of the President of the Republic, Mr. K. Papoulias.
This visit is taking place at a critical turn in the Cyprus problem, with the new negotiating effort in progress under the UN.
Cooperation between Athens and Nicosia is ongoing, close and effective, firmly oriented towards seeking a just, viable and functional solution based on the resolutions of the UN and the principles and values of the European Union.
During his stay in Greece, the President of the Republic of Cyprus will have meetings with the President of the Republic, the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament, the Prime Minister, and the heads of the opposition parties. Foreign Minister Ms. Dora Bakoyannis will meet with her Cypriot counterpart, Mr. Markos Kyprianou, within the framework of this visit. Source: MFA
