Greek prime minister Costas Karamanlis had on Thursday initial discussions with members of his Cabinet about ways the government can put to good use Olympic facilities, after the end of the 2004 Olympic Games on Sunday, 29th August.
Speaking after the meeting, minister of economy and finance George Alogoskoufis said the Games are “impeccable” and the government will make the best possible use of the Olympic facilities and immovable property built for the Games in an impeccable manner as well.
According to sources, the government does not intend to sell facilities or property but wishes to use them in such a way as to cover their maintenance costs. The final decision on the matter will be taken after more consultations. Source: Athens News Agency
