FEES TO BE CHARGED, AS OF JANUARY 1st 2007, CORRESPONDING TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS OF PROCESSING VISA APPLICATIONS
According to the Council Decision 2002/44/EC of 20 December 2001 (Official Journal of the European Union L 020, 23/01/2002 p. 5) the fees to be levied in connection with an application for a visa correspond to the administrative costs incurred and thus are not refundable.
Council Decision 2003/454/EC of 13 June 2003 (Official Journal of the European Union L 152, 20/6/2003, p. 82) fixed the amount to be charged corresponding to the administrative costs of processing visa applications at a flat rate of EUR 35.
Council Decision 2006/440/EC of 1 June 2006 (Official Journal of the European Union L 175, 29.6.2006 p. 77) amended the fees to be charged corresponding to the administrative costs of processing visa applications fixed raising it to the amount of 60 EUR, as of January 1st 2007, according to the following table:

NOTES:
A. Visa fees are paid in US dollars (click here to see the exchange rate for this month)
B. The handling fee to be charged is waived for visa applicants that are nationals of third countries who are members of the family of a Union citizen or of a national of a State party to the EEA Agreement, and who are exercising their right to free movement,
C. The handling fee to be charged remains 35€, for holders of passports from:
The Russian Federation,
Ukraine,
Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia,
Bosnia & Herzegovina,
Serbia,
Montenegro,
Albania,
Moldova.
