A single, undivided Cyprus is a top priority for Greek foreign policy, National Defence Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos said on November 17, during a visit to Cyprus.
During a joint press conference with his Cypriot counterpart Demetris Eliades, Avramopoulos stressed that "the economic crisis will not lead us to make discounts or back down from the principles and goals we have set," adding that his visit to Nicosia had real and symbolic value, pointing to the enduring and steadfast cooperation between Greece and Cyprus.
While in Cyrpus, Avramopoulos also held meetings with the Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Yiannakis Omirou. Source: GREEK NEWS AGENDA issued by the Secretariat Genera
