Cyprus President Glafcos Clerides departs for Athens today for talks with the Athens government.
The talks, which sources describe as crucial, will focus on Cyprus' European Union accession talks - due to start at the end of this month - as well as current efforts to solve the protracted Cyprus problem.
President Clerides will meet with President of the Republic Kostis Stephanopoulos and Prime Minister Costas Simitis.
